    JOB TITLE:  Instructor of Nurse Aide Training

    CLASSIFICATION:  Full-time, Exempt

    PRIORITY DEADLINE:  October 18, 2024

    COMPENSATION:  Minimum Starting Salary $55,000

    DIVISION:  Workforce Development

    DEPARTMENT:  Workforce Development

    REPORTS TO:  Director of Workforce Development

    SUPERVISES:  n/a

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: 

    • Must possess an active and good standing Registered Nurse (RN) license with at least 2 years of experience;
    • Must have worked at least 1 year as an RN in long term care;
    • Must have completed the Train The Educator (TTE) program (through Penn State University) or be eligible to complete the 3-week online program;
    • Understand all Department of Education Regulatory requirements
    • Excellent interpersonal communication, creative thinking, and critical thinking skills;
    • Dedication to working with a diverse population of students; and
    • Ability to collaborate with coworkers in a team environment.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • 1 year of teaching experience (theory and/or clinical education)

    POSITION SUMMARY:

    Reporting to the Director of Workforce Development, the full-time Instructor of Nurse Aide Training will be expected to establish a successful and supportive learning environment for a diverse workforce population with a wide range of backgrounds and experiences. The instructor is responsible for planning, teaching, and managing learning in a variety of settings that include the classroom, lab, and Clinical Site. The primary responsibilities include teaching a variety of key patient care concepts and skills. The Instructor of Nurse Aide Training will also work with Northern Pennsylvania Regional College (NPRC) Nurse Aide program.

    • In collaboration with the Director of Workforce Development, ensure consistent training offerings are available on a rotating schedule to meet workforce demands in the region
    • Monitor safety procedures in student operation of equipment and overall lab safety
    • Maintain inventory and equipment
    • Advise students regarding progress, registration, and other issues
    • Maintain complete, accurate educational records
    • Assist with student recruitment and public relations for Workforce Development and other College programs
    • Model professionalism
    • Develop and maintain industry relationships, including Nurse Aide associations, affiliated educational institutions, and other related organizations
    • This position will also serve as the Nurse Aide Program Coordinator

    ADDITIONAL ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

    • Valid Driver’s License and proof of auto insurance
    • Consistent access to a vehicle

    CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:

    • PA Child Abuse History Clearance
    • Pennsylvania Access To Criminal History Record Check
    • Federal Criminal History Background Check
    • Training Certificate - Mandated and Permissive Reporting in Pennsylvania

    WORKING CONDITIONS/WORK SCHEDULE:

    • Office Location:  Education & Training Center at University of Pittsburgh at Titusville
    • Work hours:  As needed with typical work hours falling between 7:30 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Thursday and 7:30 am to 4:00 pm Friday
    • Notwithstanding the office hours, full-time salaried employees are expected to work 40 hours weekly
    • Work hours may be adjusted to accommodate course scheduling and may include evenings and occasional Saturday’s

    TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

    • Occasional travel may be required
